Our featured brand for today is Miu Miu. Miu Miu, the offshoot of fashion powerhouse Prada, only made its debut in 1993, but it’s already considered a very strong global brand today.

The Miu Miu Leather Trim Straw Tote is made of natural straw. You can choose between white and navy blue leather trim. The bag retails for $950.

Today, we bring you a purse that is small and light, but is big enough to carry essential items like your car keys, mobile phone, and a small wallet– the Straw Mini Bag from Gap.

The bag is available online for $39.95. Given the price, we don’t expect this purse to last a lifetime but we think it’s a great purse to have for the summer. The purse will look great with summer dresses and sandals, and it’s the kind of bag you can just grab and go for busy, activity-filled days.

The bag is made of Olefin with a faux leather strap and antiquated metal hardware. It has snap closures and a zipped interior compartment.

Katherine Heigl’s Straw Tote

Katherine Heigl dashed off to sunny Sunshine State Florida for some R&R a few days ago with husband Josh Kelley and mom Nancy.

Katherine was spotted soaking up the sun on March 18 in Miami (right photo), and doing some shopping on March 20 around town (left photo).

Spot the bag that Katherine was toting on those two occasions. It’s a beautiful straw tote in cognac from Prada, and here’s a closer look:

How do you like it? It’s not your ordinary straw bag for it looks elegant. The cognac color is quite posh, and the combination of the cognac body and the cream-colored top handles is just right. It may not be apparent from the picture, but its handles actually have a web design. All in all, it’s a bag that’s not only perfect for a beach or tropical getaway, but would also serve well as an everyday go-to purse.
