Woven Bag Pick from ShoeDazzle

Have you taken a peek at your ShoeDazzle showroom already? I’ve taken a look at mine and I love the selection of shoes, handbags and jewelries that I got this month.

When it comes to the handbag recommendations that I received, I’m digging majority of them and this woven number is one of my favorites.

It’s called the Lagos, and what makes it unique from the other woven bags out there is that the woven portion isn’t on the body of the handbag, but on the handles. Its handles are actually made of woven chain and faux-leather straps—utterly stylish, isn’t it? The chain and leather are so perfect together and fit each other to a T that they look seamless. I love the shapely form and the pleats that make it so feminine. And as you can see on the photo below, it also has a roomy interior and plenty of pockets.

Aside from the woven straps, it also sports detachable crossbody straps for that easier wear.

What do you think? Do you love it, too? Of course it goes without saying that I love its affordable price as well—it retails for only $39.95!

So, how about you? What handbags do you have in your ShoeDazzle selection this month?

Cameron Diaz Steps Out with a Woven Purse in Berlin

Cameron Diaz was a picture of gray and brown when she stepped out for dinner last Friday in Berlin, Germany.

Cameron has been touring Europe to promote her new film, The Green Hornet, and was seen enjoying dinner at the Borchardt restaurant in Berlin.

The ever-so-svelte actress is certainly dressed for the cold, with no frills whatsoever. I’m just not sure, though, what’s under the coat. Nevertheless, while I cannot find anything particularly unique with her attire, I’m definitely digging the woven purse she’s carrying. It looks like a Bottega Veneta ‘Veneta’ Large Hobo to me. Do you think so? Well, let’s take a closer look:

Hmmm… I definitely think it’s a Bottega Veneta hobo, which happens to be a favorite among celebs, actually. It’s really a one of a kind purse that it’s quite becoming a classic. With its rich woven detail, soft nappa leather, and easy handling, it’s definitely a great all-around purse.

If you’re thinking of getting a purse this holiday season, a Bottega Veneta Dark Brown Woven Leather ‘Veneta’ Large Hobo might just be your perfect answer! Here’s another look to get you convinced that it’s the right purse for you:

Bottega Veneta Dark Brown Woven Leather 'Veneta' Large Hobo, $1,480.00

Quite a thing of beauty, right? I really do think so. It retails for $1,480.00 at Bluefly.com. However, if you find that quite a bit too much for your pocket, then try these less pricey ones then:

Jessica Jensen Woven Sidewalk Satchel, $537.66

Linea Pelle Perry Small Woven Hobo, $255.00

The Jessica Jensen Woven Sidewalk Satchel and the Linea Pelle Perry Small Woven Hobo are just as lovely. They are available at Endless.com.

LeAnn Rimes is a Buff Bottega Babe

Singer LeAnn Rimes was spotted last April 7, exiting the Hollywood Palladium after a practice for her performance the next day, a Diane Warren tribute.

This is actually my first time to see LeAnn in a skin revealing outfit, and boy is she buff! She sure did a good job of disposing all that baby fat. Just check out those toned arms, thighs, and legs!

Anyway, I do have one comment. I wish she had at least put on a sleeved top. There’s just too much skin going on, it makes her look like she’s going to the beach.

That aside, the wide collared sandals on her feet are divine; love the pair and would love to have it.  I also like the way she matched the all black outfit with a light yellow woven Bottega Veneta Hobo; a nice pop of color is always good.

The woven Bottega Veneta bag on LeAnn is actually one of the brand’s iconic pieces. It may have a simple silhouette, but the intricacy lies in the woven material. This particular bag currently costs US$1950. If you have the money to spend for it, you can get one from Bottega’s online store.

But if you want the look without the hefty pricetag, I suggest you get a Helen Kaminski creation. Helen Kaminski is also known for making quality woven bags both in native and leather materials. The prices are not cheap, but definitely much lower than that of Bottega’s.

For example, a woven leather Helen Kaminski Satchel such as the one below will cost you US$775, while a woven leather Helen Kaminski Tote such as the fringed piece below can run up to US$725. That’s more than 50% less than the Bottega above. And the good thing about Helen Kaminski bags is that they are all well made.
